Leading From the Core

The secret to the success of most leaders is rooted in their genuineness, capacity to manage their own responses, and ability to influence people.

At the core of every leader is a unique combination of beliefs, needs, values, talents, strengths, and motivated abilities. Leading from the core means to be consciously aware of the beliefs that drive your behaviors at work, at home, and in your community.

At your core as a leader, whether you lead hundreds or just yourself, is a set of beliefs that are
   • central to who you are,
   • essential to your functioning each day,
   • enduring over time,
and that distinguish you as an individual.

To lead effectively from the core, you must be clearly aware of the beliefs that drive your work as a leader, both the “healthy” ones and the “faulty” ones. What are healthy beliefs? These are the beliefs that provide the foundation for our efficacy as leaders, the ones that motivate our most effective leadership behaviors and attitudes.

In this inspiring and provocative session, you will develop a strategy for leading from the core, based on a set of healthy beliefs and a deep understanding about who you are. You will learn how irrational fears, faulty beliefs and internal lies can block your optimal effectiveness. You will determine how to respond effectively, even in the most difficult situations you face.

The secret to the success of most senior leaders is rooted in their genuineness, their capacity to manage their own responses, and their ability to influence people. More than anything else, the subtle nuance of interactions with others is the core competence of a senior leader.

In this inspiring and provocative session, RSLI helps you determine how irrational fears, faulty beliefs and lies you believe, can get in the way of your optimal effectiveness. You will share with others in the room how these have become obstacles in your work, and then learn a strategy for a fearless breakthrough. By the end of this session, you will develop the specific tools and perspective you need to coach yourself through any leadership challenge. You will build a foundation for Leading Fearlessly™.

The material for this session is based on RSLI’s award-winning book, Fearless Leadership, Conquering Your Fears And The Lies That Drive Them, published in June 2006. In 2007, it received Best Business Book and Best Self-Help Book awards from independent publishers associations. Drawing on his 25 years of executive coaching experience with clients from various private and public organizations, RSLI has captured the essence of what makes leaders powerfully effective.

Vital Truths for Wholehearted Leaders
Particularly helpful for people in organizations that are experiencing dramatic change, this session takes participants through the seven vital truths of wholehearted living and leadership and gives them a chance to look deeply at their own lives and needs in order to become re-grounded and re-charged.

Coaching Difficult People
Often, the subordinates who most need coaching are those most resistant to it. They are also the ones that are least gratifying to coach and most likely to continue to fail.
